Maintenance Mode returns a http status code 503 and should be used when you are doing short term maintenance on an existing site. This will let search engines know your site is under going maintenance and should return in 1 day when maintenance mode is finished.

I have used Seedpro for years. Without warning, the plugin was updated to a block format and I lost all my customizations on three sites - even though the instructions said it saved it. No option to keep what I had. So disappointed in the new process. Frustrated that this occurred during a major website rebuild and I was forced to struggle with this complicated update. I have no choice but to look elsewhere. Next time, please allow your customers a transition window of time to adjust to something so radically different.

I have used it on a number of websites over a number of years for developing and found it useful. Recently though I ran into something that concerns me. One was a private website. It was on a subdomain of a public website. I had watched the traffic through the years. No one had "found" it. It wasn't indexed or linked anywhere. It was only used by a small non-profit staff. I had some changes to make to it and used this plugin, when all of the sudden it was "found" by bots from all over the world. Not good bots either. Thank goodness for Wordfence. I thought, "odd..." but it is just possible that it was just found randomly. Then a month later I had to set up a new WordPress installation in a hidden directory for some development (completely different domain/server/company). I installed your plugin and within hours, the bots found it. Two websites that should not have any traffic at all. This plugin is calling "home" and doing goodness knows what with that information. I won't be using it again.

With the new version my old maintenance mode announcement was gone, had to create a template for a simple function that was easily to activate with just a mouse click before. But it is complete garbage since it doesn't even work! Maintenance mode is activated but customers still manage to place orders and also complain about seeing a reCaptcha on the homepage instead of the maintenance announcement (which I see). So bad! It was a great plugin but someone needed to make it "better". Stupid nonsense.

So many options are there, only if you buy pro. For free version user, only 3 template available(only 1 for coming soon, 1 for maintenance mood and 1 for another category. That's all) there. Why giving free then? Just to advertise you plugin? Make it pro. People will buy it if it is so good. Don't make people fool by advertising it as free and giving nothing in return
