This list always matches the gateways WooCommerce itself would offer on the manual order screen (active gateways only, same \"Other\" fallback).<\/li>\n<li><strong>My Account<\/strong>, by the customer themselves \u2014 only if the store owner allows it via a new setting under <code>WooCommerce \u2192 Settings \u2192 Accounts &amp; Privacy \u2192 Customer choice<\/code>. Off by default.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h4>Why this plugin<\/h4>\n\n<p>Stores that create a lot of orders manually from the admin (phone orders, in-person sales, B2B accounts with a fixed payment method) end up picking the same payment gateway for the same customer over and over. This plugin removes that repetitive step, and optionally lets recurring customers speed up their own checkout the same way.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Requirements<\/h4>\n\n<p>This plugin requires WooCommerce to be active. It does nothing on sites without WooCommerce, and shows an admin notice if WooCommerce is deactivated while this plugin remains active.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Upload the plugin files to the <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/factupress-default-customer-payment-method<\/code> directory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly.<\/li>\n<li>Activate the plugin through the \"Plugins\" screen in WordPress.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.<\/li>\n<li>Go to a customer's profile (<code>Users \u2192 Edit User<\/code>) to set their default payment method, or enable customer self-service under <code>WooCommerce \u2192 Settings \u2192 Accounts &amp; Privacy \u2192 Customer choice<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"does%20this%20work%20with%20high-performance%20order%20storage%20%28hpos%29%3F\"><h3>Does this work with High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS)?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. The plugin declares HPOS compatibility and the manual-order autofill works on both the classic (<code>post.php<\/code>) and the HPOS (<code>admin.php?page=wc-orders<\/code>) order screens.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20this%20work%20with%20the%20cart%20%26%20checkout%20blocks%2C%20or%20only%20the%20classic%20checkout%3F\"><h3>Does this work with the Cart &amp; Checkout blocks, or only the classic checkout?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Both. The classic checkout and the Store API used by the Cart &amp; Checkout blocks read the same WooCommerce session key to decide which payment method is preselected, so a single mechanism covers both.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"what%20happens%20if%20the%20customer%27s%20preferred%20gateway%20gets%20disabled%20later%3F\"><h3>What happens if the customer's preferred gateway gets disabled later?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>It's simply ignored wherever it would apply (manual order autofill, checkout preselection) until it's enabled again or a new default is chosen.
